Tracking Study Tools

If you want to know what people are thinking, planning or doing right now, a one-time survey or focus group is ideal. But if you want to know how people’s attitudes or plans have changed (usually in conjunction with your marketing or communications efforts), then you should consider using a Tracking Study.

Tracking studies are usually conducted on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis where the data is obtained and compared with the previous month’s or quarter’s data. Tracking studies can be effective in measuring trends and determining on-going changes in attitudes. Are the strategic results that you’re looking for being achieved?

NRG has a great deal of experience in conducting tracking studies. We have done customer satisfaction studies for health care providers, insurance companies, telecommunications firms, gas and electrical utilities and retailers. We have also helped clients track actual or intended behaviours such as changes in the percentage of smokers in the population, intended voting behaviour or likelihood of purchasing cars, real estate or consumer products.

We’ve also conducted attitudinal tracking—major concerns, environmental issues, health care issues, direction of the economy, performance of governments and opinions about government policies.
